Support for Patient Groups

In 2012, Celgene provided support to, or on behalf of, the following patient groups in the UK:

 

BREAST CANCER CAMPAIGN

  • Sponsorship for the Breast Cancer Campaign Annual Scientific Meeting – £6,000

CANCER 52

  • Support towards raising the profile of the organisation – £500

GENETIC ALLIANCE

  • Celgene support towards developing Genetic Alliance UK’s policy focused research projects £500

LEUKAEMIA CARE

  • Funding to bring their telephone system up-to-date and upgrade their financial software package – £11,000
  • Matching funds raised by Celgene employees from the 2012 London Marathon – £1,000

MYELOMA UK

  • Sponsorship towards patient information, patient support programmes and healthcare professional education programmes – £100,000
    Funding for the Myeloma Nurse Learning Programme – £70,000
    Support towards Myeloma UK’s Ambassador Programme – £5,000

RARER CANCERS FOUNDATION

  • Membership of the charities Industry Reference Group – £13,000
    Contribution to the development of a new model to help support patients and carers living with rare or less common cancers – £20,000

UK MDS PATIENT SUPPORT GROUP

  • Matching funds raised by Celgene employees from the 2011 Berlin Marathon – £5,000
    Support towards two patient forum events in 2012 and maintaining the charities national telephone helpline and website for 12 months – £30,600

WORLD CHILD CANCER

  • Payment of the registration fee for Celgene employees to participate in the Virgin London Triathlon – £300
    Sponsorship towards a project in Mozambique – £15,000
